Welcome to the Weiser School District!
The Weiser School District would like to thank the community of Weiser for its support in the recent school supplemental levy election. The levy passed with 74% support of the voters and we are very appreciative for that support. Our administrators, teachers, counselors, and all our classified staff would like to extend their gratitude to the community.
April is "testing month" for the state of Idaho. During April we will be administering several state and federally required assessments to our students. The Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI) will be administered to all students in grades K-3. The Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) for Science will be administered to all students in grades 5, 7, and 10. The college entrance exam known as the SAT will be administered to all juniors on April 16th. Some juniors, seniors, and sophomores that have not yet met the required ISAT cut scores for graduation will take those sections of the ISAT still needed to meet the Idaho graduation requirements. These students will NOT be required to participate in the Field Test of the Smarter Balanced Assessment in those subject areas for which they are retaking the ISAT. All students in grades 3 -11 (except those high school students taking the ISAT) will participate in the Field Test of the Smarter Balanced Assessment. The Smarter Balanced Assessment is replacing the ISAT beginning next year. The Field Test allows students and teachers the opportunity to participate in a "test of the test" this spring. Please see the Idaho Core Standards information under the Parent/Student link on this page for more information about the SBAC Field Test. Click here for a short video presentation about Math Standards and the SBAC produced by Michelle Carney with the MTI Project at Boise State University.
